The Coolwater is a mountainside estate that overlooks the quiet and quaint Thai village of Kamala on Phuket’s west coast. Centrally located between Patong and Surin Beach, the wide sloped beach at Kamala is relatively peaceful year round. The water is clear and warm and the surf is typically gentle. It’s a perfect place for swimming and relaxing. In the green season some good surf can be found on the northern end where tourists and locals enjoy the warm summer waves.

Each of The Coolwater’s contemporary hilltop residences provides the privacy of its own infinity-edged swimming pool. Elevated decks surround the exterior passageways and pools that overlook either the Andaman Sea or Kamala’s towering jungle peaks.

The striking villas are set among lush tropical gardens. The finishes are modern, with many of the floor-to-ceiling windows doubling as sliding doors. You will enjoy both the tropical scenery and the cooling breezes that constantly whisper through the estate. Your view over the valley below is of swaying treetops, village scenes, and the sparkling Bay of Kamala. The setting is serene and the houses are stylish, with all the comforts of a home.

The privately owned villas average well over 400 to 500 square meters, and have two to four bedrooms. They each have a western kitchen, luxurious bathrooms, and a comfortable living/dining room. There is individually controlled air conditioning throughout.

“Stayed here for 7 nights with two other friends. It’s gorgeous, exactly as advertised! The patio/pool area is exquisite and the staff is very kind and kept the villa very clean. It was so much more private than a noisy hotel. We could cook if we wanted or have food delivered for an inexpensive fee. The setup of the home allows you to stay in the main area with your other guests or retreat to the privacy of your own room. Close walking distance to the beach. All pros and no cons for this traveler’s first trip to Thailand.”

“My family of 5 stayed here in January 2013. We particularly enjoyed the beautiful living area and swimming pool, which if anything, are nicer than the photos. My wife and I loved the Master bedroom and bath. The owner and the staff were very helpful and available. (The staff cleaned the home daily-an added plus!) Although taxis and tuk-tuks are ubiquitous, we found it more convenient and economical to rent a car, as the home is up a steep hill. There are many beaches to explore within 5 or 10 minutes from the home. Shopping and restaurants are close by. We loved our stay here. Thanks!”

The Blue Label team are consummate professionals with top of the food chain knowledge and organisational skills. The course was structured perfectly for me, which made it extremely rewarding but was not unexpected given their genuine interest in finding out my diving level. I started with TDI Sidemount course, then I signed for Advanced Nitrox and Theory of Decompression. I built my experience step by step with an excellent instructor, Hiro, in Bunaken which is a perfect location for Tec dives! I loved the Sidemount configuration and the challenge and precision of deco dives. I learned a lot during this courses that pushed my limits and made me know myself better underwater! Thank you!”

Much can be said about Blue Label Diving so I will keep this short. I had the wonderful opportunity to train under Blue Label. Did a total of 5 courses over the last 1 year or so. The instructors, rental gear, learning atmosphere, etc were all top notch. I took the TDI Tec Sidemount course with Daren and I can honestly say my confidence, skills and abilities improved dramatically. Daren offered the course in a clear, concise and personalised format. His extensive experience showed throughout, i’m one to respectfully question almost everything, and whatever question I threw at him, he drew on his years of diving and gave the practical answer. I’m already looking forward to my next course.
